For this field of application, an anchor and a suture system is used. The WONDERHOOK® suture system consists of a handle as well as diverse suture attachments with various curvatures. For anchorage, either a titanium or BIOPLUG anchor can be used.
The resorbable BIOPLUG suture anchors are available in sizes 3.5, 4.2 and 5.2. These stand out due to their material and very good pullout resistance. The material is an amorphous stereocopolymer (Poly-co-D, L-lactide). This special material and, consequently, the BIOPLUG 3.5, 4.2 and 5.2 degrade (bioresorbable) slowly and without a resorption reaction. The material remains amorphous throughout the entire degradation process.
