Cholecystectomy

A cholecystectomy is the surgical removal of the gallbladder. The procedure is often performed in the case of complications due to cholecystitis and to remove gallstones that cannot be treated in any other way.

Please use NIR/ICG fluorescence imaging real-time guidance for this area of application. Due to its hepatobiliary excretion, ICG collects in the gallbladder and bile ducts. This allows, for instance, the rapid and easy identification of the biliary anatomy in cholecystectomy.
